Here are my predictions for the quarter-finals:

1st QF: In the 1st quarter-final, the winner of Jorg’s group (Tudor BB58 Navy Blue) will fight against Balazs’s Omega Seamaster Chronograph. In this diver’s watch battle, Tudor will come out as a winner relatively easily.

2nd QF: There are many interesting possible pairings for this quarter-final. In theory, we might see Nautilus vs. Royal Oak – but there is a very slim chance of this happening. That’s why, I will place the safest bet – Gerard’s Speedy 3570.50 against RJ’s Speedy Caliber 321. That’s right! The blood bath starts right here and the newest Caliber 321 will make it through to the semi-finals

3rd QF: As much as I love this Ming watch on Mike’s list, I think mathematically the winner of this group will be Breitling 765 Avi (there are 3 Breitlings on the list, so seeing the strongest of the three in quarter-final makes sense). And it will fight against the Lange’s Zeitwerk (the undisputable winner in Tomas’s group). And I am afraid Mike, the 765 AVI will not have much chance to win over Zeitwerk who will proudly continue into the semi-finals.

4th QF: Again in theory, in this quarter-final we could see the battle of Rolex’s (Milgauss vs. Sub Date 116610, and we all know who the winner of the two would be) or the two heavy-weights of Haute Horlogerie (Vacheron Overseas vs. Lange Datograph) – both of which would be very interesting to witness. But my feeling is that it will between Ben’s Vacheron and Bert’s Submariner, and the latter will win (simply because how can’t we have a Rolex in the final 4?)

This means, that the semi-finals will be as follows:

SF1 – Tudor Black Bay 58 Navy Blue vs. Omega Speedmaster Caliber 321

SF2 – Lange Zeitwerk Date vs. Rolex Submariner Date 116610

Wow, that makes it a very beautiful final 4! I love all of them and actually this set of 4 watches would be in my view the perfect 4 watch collection: A daily wearer BB58, the most important chronograph watch in history, a classic diver and a fantastic dress watch. I am sure that at least one of these watches is on most people’s grail list.

But who’s gonna be in the finals? Out of this 4, I bet it would be Speedy vs. Sub – the classic chrono vs. the classic diver, the moon vs. the ocean, Omega vs. Rolex. The never-ending battle between these two historical watches that largely defined the watch industry over the last 50-60 years.

These two watches nicely compliment each other, but if we have to choose the winner, I think the Speedy 321 once again is going to make it, which of course might provoke waves of criticism, but hey – we, Fratelli, love the Speedy and hey – it’s a very nice watch!
